Default 6.460 LS rods?

I was looking at the compstar website and noticed they had some longer LS rods under the sub-headings: LSX Tall Deck-HD and World Tall Deck LS1-HD. Why would you want a longer connecting rod? They also had 6.100 rods in the regular LS1 section. What are the advantages to changeing the rod leingth?

a shorter connecting rod could hit the side of the block due to an extreme angle with much stroke

Thumbs up

As the deck gets taller the rods get longer as well. The longer rods keep the piston weight down and allow the crank to balance since the counterweights can be larger and taller.
