Default manifold for a 454ci

Guys I need to decide on a manifold for this engine. I was thinking Edelbrock or Sheetmetal. I am in need of a recommendation. I was thinking Edelbrock jr. but I am worried it will choke the 454ci motor..any sheetmetal intakes out there under 2 grand?

Sheetmetal should be good for you...sounds like you are building a race car!

Hey I was told by LME that the victor jr was what they were running on there turbo car that runs 7.50s. Edelbrock is also coming out with a victor sr intake for our motors. Hope this helps and that's what I am planning on running and I hope to run deep 9s or 8s

The ported fast is working pretty well in my aplication, but it looks like you're going for a little more. I think how much you could pick up with a sheetmetal would depend a bit on who made it. You won't be getting one for under $2k from anyone I've heard of.

You can get the Super Victor from Summit or jegs, just not with the fuel injection conversion. I have one right now.

Yes, they do have it but if you try to order one you can not get it. I called edelbrock and they said it was stil in engineering? All the orders for the super victor ls1 say they are not aviable until the end of Feb.

That is what the shipment date was at Summit racing for the carb version. 2/22 to be exact, p/n 28097. I don't think that the fuel injected version will be aviable until latter.
