Default Cam Sensor, LQ4

Do I need to pull out the cam sensor to replace the cam??
I thought I read someplace that you had to . Thanks

No, you don't have to touch the cam sensor if the engine is still a Gen III LQ4. If you have a 6.0 L iron block (from an LQ4/LQ9) that's been modified with a different timing chain cover with an integral front-mounted cam sensor, then yes you will have to unplug the cam sensor and remove the front cover. Which style do you have?

Mine is a Gen IV 2006 iron block with the cam sensor located up on top at the back of the motor. Thanks
