ls3 help
i am fininshing up my ls3 shortblock and ran into an issue. when specing in the rod bolts the number 2 stops the crank from spinning. i have took it all apart and it looks fine. so i went thru and set the rest to 75 ft lbs and it is fine. then when i do #2 it stops it from spinning....

just double checked everything. 1,3,4,5,6,7&8 stretch to .0048-.0050. as soon as 2 gets any tension crank locks up.....
well swapped bearings in number one and number 2 and same thing. so i mic'd the crank in number one and two agian and it a perfect 2.100. mic'd the rod with the bearing and it is also exactly 2.100. so i plasti gauged it and it smashed it so thin you can see thru it and it almost non exsistant and wider then the gauge which means it less then .0001. looking like i got a bad rod since there is no oil clearance at all
thoughts?

if you can return them, you may look into Howards Racing Components Billet Rods. They're 100% US made from US billet 4340 steel. the compstars are chinese steel machined in the US like eagle, scat, and K1. It's basically Callies budget line. Competition Products has the HRC stuff and its usually a little more affordable than the other companies 100% US made parts.
