Default Mast Motorsports LSX 454 Dyno Numbers and Product Release

Mast Motorsports is now shipping our LSX 454 crate engines. They are intended to be a value Street/Strip 454 that uses the LSX block and makes track worthy power without sacrificing drivability. These engines come fully calibrated and ready to run, no additional tuning required. They include the necessary parts to get them running such as M-90 ECM, wiring harness, starter, air filter, and throttle pedal. All that is required to run these engines is to supply them with 60 psi fuel pressure, supply battery power to the starter, and connect the 4 circuits for the ignition and clutch/park lockout switches. It is about as simple of an install as possible with an EFI engine. We just got this engine off the dyno and it made 585HP/590TQ, which is very solid for how mild it runs. We currently have 8 of these in stock. We normally list these at $13,479, but we are offering these initial engines for $12,999 until March 31, 2008. This is a complete turnkey package that delivers more power for much less money when compared to the LS7. Actually, I think he is figuring drivetrain loss based on the numbers posted in the thread being engine dyno numbers and not rwhp numbers.

The numbers look fine for a chassis dyno, but kind of low for an engine dyno...

Yes true, the odds are it is engine dyno numbers, would be too difficult to claim RWHP numbers being every vehicles drivetrain would net different losses.

However with some worked heads, the second numbers net 510rwhp thru a typical A4 setup, those are some pretty nice numbers for what they claim to be a very mild and street friendly combo.

Would obviously see more thru a M6.

Also notice the torque from 3500rpm+, thats beauty lol.

PLUS note its complete starter to air filter, AND requires no tunning. Truely plug and play. Factor all those things in, its truely an excellent value, and innovative offer.

Do you have some numbers and hp/torque curves for the VVT 454?

Low end torque makes a daily driver more fun to drive.

I don't have complete data like what you are looking for, but the VVT LSX 454 that we did made right at 500 FT-LB. way down at 2500 RPM! Just to let you know though, we are not planning to offer that setup as part of our engine line.

I think your package is great, but I'm wondering also.... I've seen LS7 vettes with heads and cam pushing your numbers at the wheels, and thats only a 427.

Nice numbers for a turn key motor. The torque from big inch motors is awsome.

With the longish 6.125 rods I calculate a compression heigt of only 1.05". Do you mind me asking what ring pack you are using to make this thing not gulp oil on the street? Or is this not really a street motor?

1.050" isn't a huge deal in a N/A application and is kind of an accepted evil in the LS world.
