Default Cam for LS3 based 418?

Brian from LME is currently building short block for me and I just thought I'd pick your brains on cam choices.
Here's the specifics:
LS3 block, K1 4" crank/ K1 forged rods/ Wiseco custom pistons with slight dome and valve reliefs
AFR big bore 225's 70cc(already checked) CNC ported, 2.08" I /1.6" E
SCR should be right at 11.75 with proper gasket
Ported fast 90/LS2 TB
Heads have been flowed, here are the flow numbers:
VMAX MOTORSPORTS, INC.

TEST SUBJECT: AFR CNC LS- CYLINDER HEADS

AP = 28 ”H2o, All tests in CFM

Test
LIFT 1. 2. 3. 4.

100 68 46

150 107 83

200 151 115

250 193 145

300 225 176

350 250 197

400 272 209

450 295 219

500 299 225

550 309 228

600 315 231

650 302 232

700 302 233

AFR CNC Intake Port # 4.
1. Baseline Check AFR CNC Machine Ported. 2.080 INT. Valve.
Tested with VMAX Flow Entry.

AFR CNC Exhaust port # 4.
2. Baseline Check AFR CNC Machine Ported, 1.600 EXH. Valve.
Without a Flow Test Pipe.

Motor is going into my '03 Z06, car has 3.73 rear gears
Car is a weekend warrior, some road track days and a few dragstrip days per season. N/A motor, no plans for FI or Nitrous.

Myself and head porter I am using are thinking 244/256 .625/.635 on 111+3
or 112+2.
I would like to see around 550/500 to the tires. Am I crazy? Any and all opinions/suggestions are welcome.
Thanks guys, Sorry about the long post, I wanted to include as much info on the build as possible.

What lobes do you plan on using? I ran a 244/250 113 .612 lift on my previous setup that was nice all around cam for street and strip. I run AFR 225 that were 72cc but I sent them to Tony Mamo at AFR who did a mild rework, so I changed cams.

Want to use XE-R lobes, planning on 11.75 SCR

I think that is a good cam choice, but maybe try a XE lobe for the exhaust with a slower ramp rate and lower lift. Of the two, I would pick the 112 LSA.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind and run it by Pete before we order the cam.
Are my power expectations realistic, or am I way out of the ballpark?

For sure expect over 500rwhp. 550 is tougher, but you have a well spec'd setup. I'm no dyno expert, but I would expect that setup to dyno around 530rwhp.

I have a new comp 250/262 .598 .598 113+2 if you want to try it. Similar to the specs your looking at just a little bigger. I spec'd it for my ported L92's, but decided to go solid roller. PM me if interested.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm thinking I need more lift to achieve my power goal and to take advantage of the good flowing heads. I'll run the specs by my head porter and see what he thinks. Anyone else want to chime in here?

I'd expect 510-525rwhp.

Buddy of min in FL has very similar combo in a forged 402 and is making 538/510 in an '03 Z06, running 243 heads instead of AFR's. I'm hoping for at least that much.

Randy,
Sounds like a great combo! What kind of numbers have you put down with it, any track times yet? How's the driveability with that big cam?
Thanks for posting Bro!

Thought I'd bring this thread back up to the top. Short block should be done soon and still need to decide on a cam for it. Anybody? Patrick G, where are you?
