The 2 extra bolt hole are in diff places on the two blocks so you can only use the warhawk head with the warhawk block. What make them different.

All of Warhawks stuff is propriatary..(You have to buy THEIR stuff) The LSx stuff works with pretty much everything designed for the LS based motor.

Morel makes the hyd roller roller lifter for this block, it is currently available. . .tie bar style only.

We have been down this road before. Warren Johnson and the GM Performance Parts engineers designed what they felt was the best in their opinion. Not taking away anything from anyone else but they are entitled to build it the way they see fit.

I think that ET offers heads with either bolt pattern.

The World LS7X heads can be bolted in a 6 head bolt configuration on either the Warhawk block or the Gm LSX block.

I'm sure each block can easily get you to your power goal. The question is how will pricing affect your decision and would you prefer aluminum or iron?

Depends on your budget really. I would go with the LSX because of the price, durability, and compatibility.

IMO, the Warhawk is more like a showpiece rather than a practical foundation for an engine build. Compared to the LSX, you really are only losing weight both in the block and in your wallet.

The Warhawk heads can be bolted to an GMPP LSX block and the outter extra head bolts can be used, just lines up

LSX heads can be bolted to a warhawk block, the outter stud holes can be used, but the LSX outter hardware is smaller dia. the warhawk uses larger outter studs.

you will have to enlarge the outter head bolt holes about 1/8" and you can use the warhawk hardware to have, this gives you 5 bolt setup. Alot of the larger heads come standard LSX pattern now, thats how I found this out.

We are using the Warhawk block with their LS7X heads on my race car. We have not fired it yet. The block is beautiful but does require some extra work to get all the bolts down to size to fit, etc.
