Default XER281HR cam installed in my C6!! its too roughy

ok now as what i was tould from comp cams that this cam will not be too roughy !!!!

but its dam roughy the rpm range u can feel a huge diffrence from 2000rpm untill 6500 rpm .

some told me thats its all from the B&B cat back thats why ur cam is acting roughy .

check the video and listen to the cam is it normal??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YOvQRKEYPs

hmmm im not pleased with my project set up u can see why

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXZEG1Lg8do

my et 225head + fast intake + cam + ther160 + cat back maybe its from the tuning but the tuner isnt bad

first fo all it sounds awesome! just great in my view... but the tune has a lot to do with idle quality.. also how long have you driven it? it takes alittle time to "self learn" and you can only really judeg it after driving it about 100km...

if it still acts bad, then get a tuner who knows what he is doing..

With those heads on an LS1 you are looking at 4000+ optimal power anyway.
Whats your dcr? Did the guy check timing for MBR at part throttle?

281's we have fitted sound almost stock in the cars we have over here, that one sounds like it could be tuned to run alot smoother than that...if you want!

your dynamic compression propably isnt 59.. it should be in the 8.5-8.7:1 range... but i have by no means done the math....

No. the catback isn't going to do anything. If you are having problems with the way it runs, you need better tuning help.

You need more than a cam and bolt-ons to beat an LS7 Z06.

seems to me like its idling very low...should idle around 800-900 which would make it chop less. I dunno what roughy is though

You must have missed the part where he has aftermarket et225 heads. He should have significance over a Z06 at this point. Those are fire heads he is using.

OP: You need an experienced tuner for this setup.

I really think it just needs some better tuning. It shouldn't be too rough at all with a good tune

That's a pretty healthy cam. Specs are: XER lobe 232/234 .595/.598 112+2. According to Comp here are the characteristics; "mild-rough to rough idle. Race only." I had a similar cam in my heads/cam setup (232/232) and it loped pretty good. Raising the idle, adding a little airflow and increasing the timing will help, but it's still going to lope.
