Problems with ls1 i need help
Ok 109k on engine, so when i get on the throttle it smokes, when i rev it up it smokes and when i sit there and let it idle to starts to smoke the smoke rolls out of the exhaust, The motor is stock only thing is cats have been removed, i thought it was cause it was running rich, but i called and he thinks its more bigger issue, does any one know what this could be?

I would say bad piston ring, or possibly valve seals. Check your spark plugs, look for oil deposits and such so you can narrow down to which cylinder (s) is give you the problem. Once you narrow it down, if you can, do a compression test, and cylinder leak down test. That should tell you if it a ring or not.

Does it smoke alot when you start it up in the morning and then slowly go away, or is it constantly smoking. If it just does it when it is first started then its probably a valve seal. If its constantly smoking, then I would guess a ring. Also check and make sure your pcv valve isnt clogged. That would cause excessive pressure in the crankcase and force oil past the seals into the cylinder, and also cause other oil leaks.

piston rings are goin bad or its the valve seats check the spark plugs for oil on them if so start with the valves cause if its the piston rings your goin to have to tkae the motor out
