Default ls2 cam sensor

I am just about finished putting my 402 together and i thought i would see how the extension harness i got would be routed. I have a caspers #109081 cam and knock sensor harness. It doesnt plug into my cam sensor. Do i need something else?? The cam sensor is white in color, 3 pin with a notch on the top left side. The extension harness doesnt have the notch to fit the sensor. I saw a couple posts on my search that showed a short extension coming from the sensor to the oil pan, the pic said throw this away. Do i need that?? Any help would be wonderful as i would like to get this pig running this week.

You'll have to ask Caspers if their extension is meant to plug straight into the LS2 cam sensor (ie throw the short GM extension away) or into the end of the short GM extension.

The female socket on the end of the GM extension looks the same at a glance as the actual cam sensor socket....but it's not. [So yes you might need the GM short extension for the Caspers extension to work].

Ask Caspers

Or if you can't wait, just do this and then plug it straight into the LS2 cam sensor.
