EL Toro complete engine
Hey guys, I thought this seemed like a great deal
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ro+complete+el
I was gonna do this as a daily driver engine but in 402 instead of 427 because I hear that the stroke for the 427 is a little too llong for durability. Any comments or customers have any input?

I have a SDPC L92 427 waiting to go into my 2002 Formula, also as a sort of daily driver but also bracket car. I have heard mixed things about the rings wearing quicker with a 4.10 stroke but there not gonna wear that much faster then a 4.00 stroke crank. You should do a 416 motor instead of a 402. A 402 would be a LS2 block w/4.00 bore, 4.00 stroke, 416 is a L92 block w/4.06 bore, 4.00 stroke.

yeah thats what I was thinking with the 402...I really like that the engine is totally complete to inclue coils and all that,
Ive heard that with a stroke that long (4.1) there are clearence problems with the bottom end of the engine too

I have a SDPC LS2-402. No problems with the short block. However, they bolted on the heads and another speed shop found that all the top bolts on the heads were only finger tight.
If I have the money and do it again it will be the 440CI using the 4.1" stroke.

If you would like help on this pm me. I can show you a few things to save you some money and produce the best hp and most desirable engine for your money. I'm not going to be a cheerleader though and post against other peoples opinion on it. I've been doing this for over 3 years on here now, I have some insight and I know the costs of doing what you want.
