I believe the standard width of the key is 3/16". That is what my fluid damper was cut to and it fit the compstar crank perfectly. I am not sure on the length of the key though.
Most Eagle cranks don't come machined for a key.

i have a LS2 comp cams adjustable timing chain set , part # is 3157KT its a 2 peice crank gear , and the stocker for the LS2 is a single peice Crank Gear , i would think it would be ok to reuse the Stocker crank kgear thats a one peice rather then using the Comp cams 2 peice everything seems to be the exact same sprockets and chain .. would this be ok ?
I just dont like how the Crank gear when you put the 2 peice on the crank key dont go all the way through the gear , it just dont seem safe .. thats why i was wondering

I sometimes sand the sides a little if there way too much press but then I tap it in with a punch and a hammer. It should have some press but you shouldn't have to damage it to get it in.
The Eagles are made to accept the factory GM crank key.
