Default LS2 short block into LS1...

Hey guys, I searched the forum but couldn't find a thread that answered my question, hopefully you guys can help or give me a link. I was thinking of putting an LS2 short block in my 98 LS1 TA and was wondering if I could use LS6 style heads on it and everything else. Can I just put it in or are there other things that must be modified? Thanks for your time...

The LS2 actually came with a version of the LS6 head from the factory, so yes you can use them if you want. You do need some LS2-specific parts like front timing cover w/cam sensor, lifter trays, valley cover and later version head bolts. In addition, you need to rewire the cam sensor wires for compatability with the LS1 PCM and the LS2 block mounts the knock sensors on side of the block compared to the engine valley for the LS1.
