Default Cam/valve spring question

Do you guys see any problems with lifters collapsing with this cam combo? Or any other possible problems?

Comp 232/244 @.050 .648/.648 lift 113CL

LS7 lifters and Patriot Extreme springs with 2.2 Ti intake and 1.6 sodium filled exhaust valves.

What is your planned seat and over the nose spring pressures?

I did a very informal survey a couple of years ago using the search function for guys who had problems with lifters. What I found was if the lifter load was 625# or under then no one seemed to have problems with stock lifters. Once you went over this number it became a little more dicey and the higher you went the worse it got. This was one of the reasons I elected to go with the Morels, because they could handle more spring. You are at 680# (400 X 1.7).

I would check with guys running AFR heads with the 8019 spring option and these lifters since the over the nose forces will be about the same assuming around 0.600" lift. There are quite a few of these out there and may provide you with better information.

I'm running 1.8 rockers so thats worse. I guess that would be 720. Not good so far. I was under the impression that a lot of people were running patriots with stock lifters.

With your lighter valves, you "may" be able to back off on the shims and spring loads, but 1.8's definitely will load the lifter more. Correct geometry (wipe pattern) will be critical as well for stability.

Does anyone have an idea of a "very minimum" of spring pressure required my valvetrain at 7000 rpm?
