A day at the Race track.. wait.. can this be true??
Turns out, a guy that 2 weeks ago bought my 99 hardtail 225 inch dragster races for Indiana University ( them being one of his and his crews main sponsers) He mentioned to my dad an i that he was going to be out at national trails for the Lucas NHRA event this weekend.. I ran into him, and didnt realize that his super comp dragster (8.90 index) was supporting a ls7 (Gm crate motor- stock cam-stockheads, everything stock except the tb) Really cool to see. He was the only one to be doing this in his class, 890 index- dragster ran 8.90 at 154mph.. stock 505hp.. hopefully u guys enjoy.. not everyday do you get to see a rear engine dragster with a ls7!
Let me know what you guys think!

Okay, how about some clarification? The dragster in the pictures is OWNED by (not sponsored by) Indiana State University.
The driver at the division race in Columbus is one of four student drivers of Team Sycamore Racing, a student entity of Indiana State University. That's right, students learn the business of racing through a motorsports management minor and get a bachelor's degree in their field of choice. Automotive Technology Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Marketing, Business, and Communications are just a few of the degree programs available.
Now, talk about cool -- working the business of motorsports with a new LS-7 engine in a SuperComp dragster and get a four year degree!! That's cool!

Now, I definitely think that is a cool idea what was done. His car has got to be light as hell though. I have always toyed with the idea of doing something similar, a LSX based motor with a Procharger in the dragster....but when all was said and done it makes more sense (and is cheaper) to run the 572.
