4th gen with LT4!!! Looking for auto trans compatibility
Hi Guys,
I'm on the hunt for a new powerplant for my 2000 Camaro Z28.
Actually I'm about to pull the trigger on a LSA / 6L90E setup however, i have found out that the new LT4 is out on the market as a crate engine and it's within my range of budget...
I think / if possible / this swap can be somehow a first of it's kind.
I have searched the net and found almost nothing...
The answer i have to find out is that if the LS4 / 4L85E is compatible or not?
A built 4L85E is the best i can go within my budget. But i have to find out if they are compatible or not...
PS: Will a walbro 340LPH in tank be sufficient before the lift pump? That's what i have already.
Any help will be more than appreciated.
Regards
Mert

Unique bell housing kit enables 1996-later 4L60, 4L65 and 4L70 four-speed automatic transmissions to be matched with the Gen V LT1 engine.
• Use with 8-bolt flexplate kit P/N 19329416
Not sure what it would take to use with a 4L85E. Bob

You know what, i have been thinking about Sonnax upgrades and stuff. Yes, those 4L70E can be ugraded to handle the abuse of a stock LT4, however, how long can i keep the LT4 untouched? With that Badass AF Vega, i don't think neither You will leave it untouched Bob.
But for the ps pump bracket. i'd really appreciate if you share the link with me, i mean if you happen to find it somewhere.

I'm going with a glide in my Vega, and more than likely I'll have a ProCharger F-1X on it. The engines going to have forged internals, etc.
I'll pm you the link to the ps bracket. Bob

Just a fore warning when it comes to putting an lt4 in a 4th gen. The blower will hit the cowl or be very very very very close to the cowl. So be prepared to to cut the car up if you havent already. Also make sure when you get it all running, if you pulley swap the blower, make sure you have a big heat exchanger for the blower. Manifold temps will be a killer especially with how shrouded the blower is going to be in an fbody. Check my thread out and you will see what im talking about.
