Default Gen V with 4l80e

Anyone familiar with what needs to be done to mate a 4l80e to one of these gen v's? I know with the LS swap I had to run that adapter/spacer with the flat flywheel but the gen v crank flange is 8 bolts whereas the LS is 6.

Aren't LS9 and LSA's 8bolts? LSA are part of GMs Connect and cruise package. Are the flexplates interchangeable?

Gen V crank flange is the same as LSA, not LS9, which is 9 bolt.

Not specifically, but I bet if you search around, you will find a custom flex plate for this. Check TCI maybe?

The bell housing is different for a Gen V. The center bolt at the top is offset to accommodate the direct injection pump.

I know that. I was planning on using that hole either way. My question was regarding the flexplate to 80e converter and the possible need for a spacer like the LS based version.

12620099 is the part number stated on the LT-1 installation manual.

Does this flexplate have the correct spacing for the 4l80e?

In my case I am trying to mate up a ATI T400/Treemaster converter. John At ATI had a kit 915737 that would work. TCI had one flex plate for a 8 hold application. I dont know if they have the kit. I would call ATI. The other way I was thinking LSA flex plate with the puck for the conversion. Several things to think about and some companies to call. A 4L80E will have two miss matched holes TCI did not have a problem with that. The only other way for all the bolts to line up is a 4L75E with the removable bell housing designed for a gen 5 motor

Use this part number then. The Gen Vs don't have provisions for a 4l80/85 trans to work with it in the catalog. But I do know the Gen Vs has the same flex plate as an LSA. I used a built 4l65E with the Gen V Bell housing on my swap.

8-bolt crankshaft flange
• Includes flexplate, adapter hub and hardware

4L80/85 style torque converters
• Conventional 6-bolt flexplates do not bolt up to LSA and

hmm.. this has me thinking. I wonder how hard it would be to bolt a TH400/350/glide to the gen V's. The new COPO runs a GenV/TH400 combo right? wonder what they're using in that thing.
