Default L83 intake manifold

Just realized I never posted these to LS1 Tech.

Here is an image of the L83 intake manifold:

and another:

and here is a comparison to the L96/L93/LY6 intake (6.0/6.2L 2007-2013 trucks):

Interesting. Looks considerably lower...more like the car manifolds. Thanks for all the pictures of the engines components.

The 5.3L intake looks much like the 6.2L intake. I'm guessing the main difference is the TB bore size

I also didn't realize the new intake was that much shorter.

Edit: All the location of the PCV nipple has moved on the 5.3L version

Does anyone have or know the cam specs for the L83 engine?

I need the LSA, duration, and lobe centerline numbers.

Thank you.

And here is the same crankshaft next to a Gen IV V8 crankshaft:

visually looks the same, are there any physical differences apart of key way? I came across used LT-1 stock forged crankshaft and I was wondering if it could fit in ls1 engine block? And another question, does anybody knows if LT-1 rods can be used in ls1, are they different by any means?

Hi LS1Tech,
New member here and New GenV L83 owner. Looking to educate myself on the new Small Block. I Went through all of the post Jason put up and I cannot access any of the pics.

Jason, did you have to pull them all down? It's too bad looks like you put up a lot of good information at one time.

Maybe I missed something because I don't see anyone else mentioning it. Could someone please enlighten me?

Regards,
Kevin
