help wiring factory gauges with standalone harness
I recently got my lq4 going in my 2000 rcsb (originally a 4.3) with a psi standalone harness installed. The truck runs just fine, but now I have to work on getting my gauges going (tach, speedo, oil pressure, volt, coolant temp) I can see that the speedo, coolant temp, and tach output signals come from the pcm. I imagine that a signal for the volt can come from any ignition power source in the dash. The oil pressure is not included as a part of the harness, but i have the sending unit with a single wire. When hooking up these wires from their respective sensors or pcm, can they be directly wired to the factory sensors (eg oil sending unit wire direct to gauge? or is there more to it than that?) I do have access to schematics through a friend's shop, but I didnt know if anyone has experience with this.

I never updated this thread... I got all of the gauges working. Oil pressure sensor 1 wire hook up to stock fuse box, reference wire from pump to pcm (for fuel level), and serial 2 data from bcm to pcm, for the temp gauge and to rid of battery light and low fuel warnings.

Doing a 6.0L with a t56 transmission swap in my 2003 Silverado RCSB that had a 4.3 with a five speed manual. What did you have to do to get all your oem gauges to work?I can get schematics from alldata if I need to. I've got a wire harness and computer from psi conversion.

Plus, the LQ4 is a Gen III engine, not Gen V
