Default LSx454 Lifter Change

Hi all, I have a crate stock LSx454 from Chev performance. I am about to upgrade the rocker trunnion bearings and am also contemplating a lifter change, both are just for reliability.

I have heard conflicting info that on the cast iron LSx454 block the heads do not have to be removed to do a lifter change. Does anyone know if that is right?

Thanks in advance.

If you don't have tie bar lifters you can change them with the heads still on. If running tie bar lifters the only way I could see it happening is by cutting the tie bar and installing non tie bar lifters lol.
