Got a ticket last time and embarrassed this go around. Some fellow in a ragged out '96-98 GT wanted to run, so I figured he'd be easy pickings. I asked how it was hooking and he said, "like shit." Mine's about like slippers on ice, so I wasn't too worried. On the line he dropped the clutch and dead hooked from about 3 grand, while I was babying it off idle to keep from spinning. I caught him by about 85 and managed about 3 lengths around 100.
We pulled over and talked a bit. He had a PI swap, 3.73s, and what sounded like at least a catback.
Won the run, but it had to have looked bad from the crowds point of view.

well, he lied to you or was talkin out his ass.. It was hookin last night for sure.. I wondered why you took off with out stallin' it up..
wow, left to early once we got run off from the first place me and 4 other f-bodies headed back to the hotel because we didn't know where to go. I guess I should have called Matt or Dustin. It was fun while it lasted, hope to make it back up there and have some fun soon.

Yeah, once we got kicked out of the first place we headed to a gas station right down the street then went to Rivergate and stayed out there for awhile...I left at 2:30am and there was still a ton of cars there.

Would've just been a smoke show. That's what I get for running around damn near on the wear bars. He hooked like a son of a bitch while I sat there and did my best impression of an old lady.
