need to buy LS2 402 short block with custom pistons?
i changed my mind about the iron 408 LS1 and wants LS2 aluminum short block for my project.
the custom cam i have is 263/263 dur @ 0.050" 0.665"/0.665" lift lobe seperation is 108 and 108 intake center line also i have 205 AFR heads that are completly hand ported by race-prep they have 2.055"/1.60" valves. so the custom pistons for the LS2 short block must take in consideration the cam lift and duration and valve sizes of the heads. i want wesico custom pistons with two valve reliefs. these valve releifes (or pockets) must be just deep enough to not have piston to valve clearance problems yet having 11.3 : 1 engine compression. the 205 AFR heads have 66cc chambers and i will use factory head gaskets for the iron block or maybe the GM LS2 head gasket.
note and big note : please any one who wants to do for me the LS2 402 short block to BALANCE the rotating assembly accuratly using the factory crank balancer and factroy flywheel i don't want a LS2 short block that i can't use, OK.
also, i want the wiring harness and complete parts to install LS2 402 short block in 2000 LS1 M6 camaro.
now, who makes the best LS2 402 short block that are well balanced?
i saw TSP sell them for $3,929.
i want to know who tried LS2 402 short blocks from sponsers and how are they satisfied about them?
thanks.

If your 205's are unmilled they might work without a custom piston. Have your sponsor get your heads and measure p-v clearance in a long block configuration. You gain about .110" from almost any forged piston because of the valve reliefs, plus with a 65cc chamber on a 4.0" bore you probably will be able to get to 11.3 pretty easily.

i went with a SDPC short block and been having good luck with them. Is there a reason why you are running such a big cam? Is this going to be a track car only? with that size cam your hp wont come in untill 4500-5000 rpms and will have pretty bad low end power. You can check with ractronices for the wires to connect you knock sensors and cam sensor. good luck with your build.

my car is M6, won't that help low end power specialy i will race from a roll on the street?
but i don't think i will go to the track too much.
i will use the factory rear end and the 3.42 gears with this huge cam since i will race from a roll and i will not dump the clutch from high rpm.
