U know better Chops ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Nothing and I mean "NOTHING" can be more powerful than the top Vette (in this case it would be the ZO6), GM will never allow it !

Remember what happened to the GN's, and GNX's ? They went the way of the Dodo bird because they broke the one standing rule, no GM built vehicle can surpass the companies premiere bad ride, the Corvette ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

So maybe if they give that motor to the C-6 and a tamer one to your proposed vehicle it could happen, but other than that it's very doubtful ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Sorry pal ! Not trying to rain on your parade, just facing facts ! <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

By the way I do like the idea and the look ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

It's not part of GM. It's different to Holden. Basically it's there own company to which GM have no control over.

In fact chances are unless you are a high flyer and visit here (Australia) every now and then, or some one imports one, u'll never see this car on your roads. HSV are apparantly only building 50 of them, and most of them have already been ordered.

Default Killed by Accountants

For those of you interested the 427 was killed off by holden accountants, they originally wanted to sell the car for AU$350 000 but when they built 2 prototypes they discovered the price was almost AU$400 000 and because they'd already promised the customers who pre-ordered it that the price would be no more than AU$350 000 rather than bring the car out and refund the difference they killed it off.
Don't panic though people as we will see some very hi-po monaros coming out soon. The 427 is not dead, just wounded and resting.

Where'd you hear that? I heard that Holden killed the car because the majority of the people who put down deposits wanted to garage the cars as collectors items rather than track them which was what Holden wanted buyers to do. I heard that Holden would have had to have increased the price, but that buyers didn't care and wanted the car anyway. The problem was that the prospective buyers were collectors rather than racers which is not what Holden wanted for the car.

The official statement from Holden was that it would cost too much. Monaros with 427s in them are already racing. Theres a 24-hour race at Bathurst (visit http://www.bathurst24hr.com/) that two of them compete in, last year the 427 Monaro won it against such competition as Porsche GT3s, Ferraris and Lamborginis, as well as BMW M5's and Dodge Vipers. The 427s also run in the Procar series of which the 24hr race is just one part (visit http://www.procar.com.au). Australia's greatest V8 driver Peter Brock currently competes in one in Rallys and the 24-hour as well. They are looking towards LeMans in the next few years.
