Great thread idea.
Any other suggestions?
Pro Extreme (big tire all out class) is done, we cannot get the 5-6 guys who are really the big does for this kinda racing to come out because of all the races they have clustered around the same time.
Do you guys like seeing the COPOs? If so please holla. I know some folks really liked seeing 4-5 of them at the same time.
I've had this idea, would like reactions, of having a Ford vs GM body shootout, keep it on a 28 tire. There are so many Fox body swap cars that show up to the even it might be interesting to see who can get it done on a 28.

Send me an email to john@motorsports-media.com. I will circulate to the rules committee. But we come back to everyone with additions and changes more in the new year.

When do they determine the dates for the fest?
Interesting how the NMCA ends in August next year. Isn't LS Fest always in September? Makes me wonder how the points deal will go for the LSx series, if there is one.

I'd be down for the truck class. I was also disappointed In not having a throwdown this year even though I burnt up my clutch on Friday on the dyno in my truck. Won't be a problem next year as I'm putting a 80e with a trans brake this winter. I had the black and yellow stepside. Made 376 on the dyno with a slipping clutch

How about a true street shootout? Take the 16 or 32 fastest true street cars from Saturday, put them on a ladder and let them race heads up on Sunday. They do this in the nmra at least once a year and seems to be very popular.

I'll bring my truck and I can be almost 100% confident flaco could round up another 5 at least.
If it was a true heads up deal and we all fit into some rules (preferably none really) there are some pretty serious truck guys down here in Texas.
The thing with the rules could be tricky. We all have pretty different set ups. Ladder bars, 4-links, leafs and caltracs for suspension, then big turbos and at least allow an F2 procharger (to get me in the mix).
I'd say set a minimum weight and bring it on. 3700lb would get all of us except one guy (spike). I believe his truck is under 3000lbs.

Do away with the 200 TW tire rule in the performance handling events. If its DOT approved, Its DOT approved. If we drove a 1000hp car 1200 miles round trip on them, they should be able to compete in any events that are designed around "street cars"...
That silly rule has been bothering me for years.
Would be nice to compete in the racing aspect of things on a good tire instead of just taking home a gift certificate from the dyno shootout every year....

Hey John! Great to see you again at the Chevrolet Performance awards party Saturday in Indy. I spoke with you about the lack of the winners receiving a plaque in each ET class of true street documenting their win. At all the other races there is one given to each winner. If you will check into this and see if it can be implemented at LS FEST please!
See you at the races next year!
Thanks

I was embarrassed after winning the second round of Rumble when officials informed me that trans brakes are not allowed in Rumble (I should have read the rules more closely). With a turbo car, that essentially eliminates me from even racing in Rumble. So the only class I have left to compete in with a decently quick, twin turbo, street car is True Street. I can appreciate the all-inclusive format of True Street, but without a Top 16 Shootout it lacks the thrill of having to beat the guy next to you with a good reaction and a good ET.
I spent a lot of effort and money to upgrade my car to certify for NHRA tech, and LS Fest is the only NHRA event that I have participated in so far. I'm using my 2014 LS Fest winnings to swap to a Holley Hi Ram intake and throttle body this winter. So please give "us" more incentive to participate in 2015 than just 3 back-to-back hot lap passes on a track that doesn't get prepped between T/S laps.
Thank you for the opportunity to offer suggestions.
