With respect to a truck class, I suggest you guys either start a thread on a forum or a post something on FB (or both) and show me the link to the traffic so I can share it to one of the Holley guys.
Not a bad rule of thumb to take all the interest and then assume that a 1/3 of the folks will actually show up.

Come on guys. Lets make this happen.
I feel like I am being ignored when I ask how much sponsor money I need to help gather up.

I posted in the the Truck Threads on YB and on here on Tech. Post it on my LSX-Rated Page (hit link in my sig) as well as we have a ton of TBSS and truck guys on there who should get down good this year....we've wanted a truck class for like three years now. Hard to be competitive with some of these cars because no matter what you cant get a truck realistically down to minimum weights they allow the cars to get to....Really leaves us out of the mix with the other rules. We (LSX-Rated) might even be interested in some sort of sponsorship for the class ourselves.

A 6 speed class would bring in people such as myself who know they can't really compete in any class. Index class so it's "fair". I went a few years ago and loved it but every year since, I've just come to watch. It's not worth having a car there if it doesn't really fit anywhere. No matter what, I will still definitely be there this year!

In my opinion, 28" max tire LS powered GM 6 speed, come to win. There will be tons of different combos (different heads, power adders, suspension, weight, interior etc) because most 6 speed cars aren't set up for a class so to implement a bunch of rules will make the class very small.

As far as faceplated trans is concerned, I think most of the fast guys are faceplated so to not allow them in the class hurts the car count. For the record I have a synchro trans so not biased lol

Also, I'm not so thrilled about the two separate rumble classes.

Of course, now I have to set-up the two step and transbrake after years of not allowing one.

I emailed Steve Wolcott about it and his explanation was as the 5 gen is now 6-7 years old and the 6th gen will be out soon, combine that with the racers wanting something that allows trans brakes, and this is how they came up with the two classes.
Makes sense to me now after talking with him.
I am a foot braker so I'm not sure which class I'll run.
If they'd allow a radial and put it on a .500 tree, I'd likely run CPS.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to see the event happen a hair later in the year...like October. It was so hot last year, the track was terrible. I couldn't hook my car from a 3k launch on MT Pros!! Car was a 6 speed...itll be a 4L80E this year. But I heard the track temps were upwards of 155-160 last year. Did anyone else have traction issues?

Traction issues at a LS event... no... really.... BG and the Atlanta race are typical of lack of knowledge on small tire and radial prep.
Although a NMCA rep is recently quoted...
"Just received conformation from Rollie Miller that TJ Bailey "El Prepe" will be the official starter for the LSX Series as well. He is also the Official Starter for NMCA & NMRA events. He oversees and manages the track prep process as well as operates the "switch" with professionalism. Great news for the LS cars and classes. Tighten your lug nuts!!!!!"
While I am not calling TJ the "Dream Team" or the "Traction Twins" he actually does have a clue and does a great job. Keep in mind most full NMCA events have to cater to both big slicks and radials which require a complete different level of prep to be optimum for each tire.
