2016 dragweekend
Its been a couple weeks. Figured I'd let you guys know about my experience. I started the motor in my 66 vette weds night, drove it about 2 miles, changed oil Thursday morning, and left for phoenix at 8 am Thursday. Me and my son got there, checked in and they said I had just a couple minutes for one pass. So I literally drove thru.....to an 11.60 at 112 coasting... Cause I was teched for 11.50.
Worked on the car....Thursday night, little things... Ran thru my little 2.5 exhaust and its got 3.36 gears with a 2004r...
After three days I averaged 11.64 on my 11.50 tech, but it was easy to go under, way under...I was coasting to low 11's in the mid 90 mph area... Trying to slow down to 11.50.
After my last pass, to turn in my slips, I ran it out one time, middle of the day 90 degrees and the track was going away...10.97@123 thru the exhuast, with no tune....I left the laptop power cable at home.
Last week it went high 10's in Vegas at 124...and a c7 zo6 was trapping the same, a hell cat was trapping 119 both in the high 11's. A stock well driven c7 runs mid 12's (same night) ......so I'm happy, and building new headers for my hotrod for maybe 10.60's na.
Drag weekend is by far the best car event I be ever done....and I'll be back next year.
