Since I saw the date and route for PT 07 in Hot Rod I had already got the wheels spinning on making arrangements to be a long hauler.
I'm not much for driving long hours. As an example the 12 hr trip home from Memphis after pump gas drags 1 was almost the death of me. What are the drives like? Are the cruises to the next city during the day or at night? Judging by the map the routes look very doable for me with the exception of the 14-15 hr. drive home from Little Rock.

They are early morning runs around 200 to 300 miles between each stop but this year from Springfield to Evansville is only a 100 miles then 300 miles to Memphis, TN from Evansville . Then from Memphis to Lil Rock is around a 3 hour ride. So all in all it is a good time and not real bad driving coming up this year.

For the most part this year coming up doesn't look that bad of a Tour between cities!

the only thing the power tour ppl setup are the venues and directions. u get ur own hotels and such. there are "power tour" hotels, but they go fast and the prices aren't the best.

What is the registration for the power tour for? I plan on meeting them in Springfield or Evansville and going on from there. Can you just meet up at one of the stops and join in from there?

What does the registration do for you? I was under the impression that you could meet up at any stop and just fall in. Do you have to have this to be apart of the tour?

to park in the power tour parking and such, u have to register. u get a goodie bag and can enter a bunch of drawings and ****. sure, u could cruise the whole thing without registering and jsut spectate, but if ur already spendin a ton on gas and hotel, go ahead and register. im pretty sure u can still register at each venue if u decide to do it last minute or join wherever.

I did the long haul in 05 with my camaro and the longest drive was from Orlando, FL all the way back home just outside of Chicago. It took me 26 hours straight, only stopping for food & gas.

You really don't need to to it. You can join up along the tour at any time and just pay the fee to park with the tour for the day. I think it was like 20 bucks. It's only cheaper if you plan on doing the long haul. You also get a goody bag even if you just pay for one day, you just don't get the car decal. If you just want to drive along with the tour, you can do that for free. The drive between the stops is not all that organized, it's more of a free for all. Plus, nobody owns the roads, you can drive with whoever you want. It's not confrontational at all, the attitude is, the more the merrier.

We will probally have a few cars going on the tour if everything goes as planned...... how can we not it starts right in our backyard. I really would think they would pick a better venue in Cleveland rather then the IX center, there is really nothing there but a HUGE parking lot, but there are alot of other places with pretty ample parking space ie. Summit, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,.......GMR Speed...lol
