Yep, we were kinda hoping it would go out west a bit, but IMO it's the people and cars that make it special - not the destinations

City's bid to bring Power Tour to them, it helps the local economy.

I'd say besides the cities bidding on the tour, which makes sense since there's 2000+ cars, 4000+ people, we're there one night, the average age is what, 40-ish, so not too many problems ; I think the mid to east part of the country is slightly better suited because of the population density, and descent sized cities are generally 200 miles away. If you were to go through the western states, cities are farther apart = more driving per day. Lastly, it's where the $$$ is....

Its been the same cities for years and thats why i as well as a lot of my long hauler friends stopped going on the power tour .

We went on the REAL POWERTOURS ...east coast, rt 66, southern run.. daytona... the good ones! So all the longhaulers that i know have refused to run these crappy midwest runs.

I think they just need a better staff that has their hotrod roots in place again. I'd be more than willing to step up to the plate if anyone from primedia reads this. I've been in very key positions for several magazines. If you'd like, contact me for my portfolio and resume. (I've also had my photography in some of your primedia magazines very recently (full spreads) as well as strongly influencing if not taking over one of your photoshoots, thanks to them sending a novice photographer still learning his camera and photography skills.)

I'll make the powertour and your magazine the pinnacle of hotrod as it use to be!

Sorry guys, I went on a rant since the hotrod mags are all owned by primedia and are really not that good anymore. As im sure you all see first hand. I should post up the video and pics from all the past powertours ive been on so you can see how much better it was. The old powertours created memories that last a lifetime these newer ones just waste gas and time you could spend on a real cruize tour.

This year was my first, but I agree that it shouldn't be taking the route that it's taking in '08. I can understand about not going through parts of the Southwest, no offense to everyone there, because of distances between cities. But, the mountainous landscape would be pretty. And what is in Lincoln and Sioux Falls? Once you get away from the Ozarks, the land goes flat, like Memphis to Little Rock, maybe flatter .
Driving the Pacific coastline would be neat, some twisties and scenery in Northern Cal. If they stay east side, at least get into the Blue Ridge, Catskills and Adirondacks, and maybe Maine....Flat not fun to look at, and southeast, way too hot and humid. At least they did one thing right, started south and ended north, where hopefully it'll be cooler....Just my .02... Oh, and lastly, why in June, why not in the fall when it's a tad cooler.

Not Missouri, Ozark mountains have some nice roads and stops on the power tour. I went on it back in 04 at the springfield stop.

Ozarks are pretty decent, nice hills, plus the Lake of the Ozarks, it's Nebraska and S. Dakota that I think will be pretty boring. I checked a "over all" US map, and the highways in those states look pretty straight. No matter, I'm still going
