Default New guy

So I will start off by saying that to the bone I am an Fbody guy, was supposed to get a 96 Z28 when i graduated high school as I was going to pay for it but parents decided in the snow that car would not due, so no help from them, instead i got the grand am I just sold. I had a 76 camaro 350 auto in high school as well that was bought for $400 and sold for $3500 about 6 years ago.

Now that the history lesson is done, my name is Adam I sold my grand am and will be joining the LS1 world in about a month, saving up for a nice down payment and am looking for a clean one with lower miles, found a couple by me with 60k or less on the ticker.

My plans with it are just simply a fun DD, possible headers, intake exhaust, i am looking at 99-00 model year and then buying the LS6 intake as I hear the cam is more aggressive on those years as opposed to the 01-02 that came with the LS6 intake and milder cam. I am not sure if it is a good thing to say but I am friends with LS1 dave and he let me take the GMS camaro he has for a quick spin. After that I was sold on the LS1 after driving a new G8 with supporting mods and like 396 hp and 394 trq. Camaro felt nicer, albeit smaller room for my 6'6 215 lb body. I am really looking forward to this very much more fun upgrade from my low 15 second grand am. haha.

I wouldn't rule out the 98's. They get a bad wrap because they CAN be harder to tune. With the right tuner it is no problem. I have all the bolt ons, custom cam and nitrous. My tuner who is a sponsor on the site (New Era Performance) did a great job of tuning it. It runs almost like stock. With just bolt ons there shouldn't be any issue. With the extra money you will save you can put it toward mods!!!! I saved a substanial amount of money going with a 98 and I along with many members on the forum couldn't be happier.

Yeahh I am walking for the next month or so to work, my office is seriously a 7 minute walk from my apartment and I have a small market right around the corner. So since I am walking I will make it worth it. I am thinking either a pewter colored one or blue, Ok and hw is the back hatch on the 98 is that an issue or should I just replace with a 99 and up one?

I found a 2000 z28 with 50k on the ticker near me in pewter they only want $8,888.

Thanks for the welcome everyone I will probably be a PITA as I have wanted a camaro since I got my car but now I am givin up some stuff to get one. After driving one of the 2001 Granatelli Camaro's I was sold and am set on it.

Well just test drove one last night that I went to look at just cause I am weird and the odd colors are growing on me. It is teh Pewter color with cloth interior, dang the guy at the lot handed me the keys let me take it for a spin, he didn't even get in the car. All I gotta say is I will content with a stock Ls1 for at least a month hahaha. God I gotta find a cheaper hobby.

$8,800 for the car with 50xxx miles clean as hell, didn't pull the dipstick on it but if it's there in a couple weeks then I will be doing that then. I am still debating on whether I want to buy CB exhaust right away, lookin at the jegs one a friend asked me if that one was good my reply is from the sound clip I heard it will make small children cry and mothers run inside for safety. haha
