Old and new... looking for advice for non ls1 v8s Hello! I have been a member for a while, I don't post much just read...
I have an LS1 in my 93 mazda Rx7, love it! it is stock but with that car, it hauls!
I just purchased a 79 full size blazer, it has a v8 5.7L in it, I am going to convert it to fuel injection (tuned port) and turbo charge it, but I am not sure what forum to join for that, I know there is lots of reading to do for that, but I have an idea of the direction I want to go
(mega squirt computer, hx40w turbo...etc) but I am not all that familiar with what the v8 can handle (boost wise), how to size the heads, the cam, pistons... etc all the internals basically. I am not looking to boost the hell out of it, just 5 or 8 psi (if that is reasonable for the engine) I know it adds lots of stress and I would like to make sure I am approaching it correctly. Obviously I want to spend as little money as possible, but I don't want to skimp at the cost of a nice conversion. Anyway, I am look for some suggestions of where I should be looking for examples and suggestions and comments and experience.
