I have a '67 chev c10 that I will be converting to a 2004 5.3 Vortec with a 4L60 transmission and it looks like I found the right place for answers. The motor and trans has ~40K miles on it and it can be had for $1450. Just waiting for it to arrive to the salvage yard. It comes with the computer(s), all the wiring and the gas pedal (I think it's a DBW). I'm going to look at it today so if anyone has any suggestions as to other things that I might need from the donor vehicle, please send me a reply.
My '67 currently has a 283, 2 barrel with a 700R4 (recently added) and it runs pretty decent and shifts well. Its one of those trucks however, that could turn into a pile of rusty, broken junk when I start taking off the sheet metal so I'll be using another frame to do all the "mock ups". That way I can take my time and not potentially destroy a good running truck until I'm ready for the transplant.
