Land Speed Racer from TN... Hello! I have been reading posts on here for a while, and decided I better sign up!
We are currently putting the finishing touches on our Land Speed racer for Maxton and Bonneville. Doesn't look like we will be done testing this one in time for B-Ville this year, so we will have to go without it ;-( We should have it ready for testing at Maxton in Sep and Oct.
1997 GMC Sonoma Extended Cab:
Lowered 10" with custom Thorbecke Brothers chassis components
Billet double-adjustable Air Ride Tech bag-over shocks (ride height 1.8")
9" mounted on triangulated 4 link - 2.80 gear
Tex 101A 4 speed with ball bearing tailshaft
LS engine:
ERL Superdeck block with LS9 piston squirters
Callies custom crank
Wiseco custom pistons
Howard's billet rods
Dailey Billet dry sump system w/Patterson 5 gal tank
All-Pro/West Coast LSW heads w/ti valves (they flowed 409 @ .780" on the intake!)
Jesel lifters, dogbones, and shaft rockers
Comp Cams custom grind camshaft
Pro Systems 4500 Series carb
you know.... your basic LS1 street stuff.......
