Default Camaro #2, First z28

Hey everyone, I am not new to the Camaro scene, having just sold my first car. I moved on up from a 1995 Camaro with the almighty 3.4... Went out and picked up my 1998 z28 for $250 more than I sold mine for . NBM with gray leather, t tops, and M6 with a B&M Ripper short throw.

Plans for the car are mostly cosmetic. Bought it with some body damage,no power steering, and am really just planning to fix that, find an SS or Sunoco hood, and an SS spoiler. Maybe wheels later on, but my c5 wheels look good for now. The car came with an SLP lip and MAF, but the lid base is for a Trans Am I believe, thus leaving dents on the hood from being closed on the corners of the lid. The body damage involves the rear bumper, taillights, and finish panel needing replaced, as well as a bad dent, and someone keyed it First quote tomorrow...

About me, I'm 16 and I'm a senior. I'm onto my second car, appropriate it's also my second Camaro. I bought my car ON MY OWN. I'm paying for everything alone, so I hate hearing, "You're parents have a nice Camaro." My dad has a polo green z28, 96 A4... We down our own work for the most part.

I'm looking forward to my project, and the help and advice I will receive here. No pictures until she's fixed. lol

Congrats I can definitely respect that you bought it yourself gives you way more pride in it that way. Quite a difference from that 3.4 to 5.7 isn't it? lol Post some pics anyway I'd love to see it!

When you bust your tail to pay for your own car and wrench on it yourself , you always appreciate more. Good job!

Car now has Berger Mod, with satin black, and LT1 tails. The tails were included with the buy and I like how they flow better than LS1 tails.

Sorry for the wait, these pics will have to do till a photoshoot. I usually don't like posting front yard pics but here they are. After a month of piddling around, she's heading in the right direction. Also note the new drilled and slotted rotors installed yesterday:

Excuse the neighbor's pleasant dirt pile...

After a nice session with the Porter Cable:

Very clean car both of them, and I love those SS hoods on your dads LT1 always caught my eye. Put a cat-back and some headers on there after you finish your cosmetic mods so people can hear you before they see you.

Thanks guys. Really means a lot... As far as exhaust, a cat back will have to do, when I get the money. I'm thinking of doing suspension first.

Nice car dude, all three look clean. I know how you feel with the "Be careful in your dads car" comment, this was my old car, sold it a few weeks ago right before I turned 17. Restored the whole thing myself. Keep it up.

I noticed the clear corners, Noticed the chrome camaro inserts (rear). Are they the vinly stickers or the chrome metal ones. I'm looking to get a set of those. Good luck with car. They all look good. I used to have a 94 v6 for five years then got a 96 lt1 had for 3 years. Now got a 98z. Big difference from v6 to Ls1. Have fun. John

Nice job! I had a 1997 Z28 M6 my senior year of high school that I paid for, I always just laughed when I heard the mom/dad comments. Keep it up!

The clear corners came with the headlights... which the last owner bought and installed. The inserts are stainless steel inserts from EmblemPros. I opted for the ones with black etching in the middle.
