2001 SS Newbie from San Diego (Pics)
Bought the car last night from a dealer here in San Diego. It's a 2001 SS with SLP exhaust system, SLP Lid w/K&N filter, black leather, 6 speed with 55,000 miles. Everything is great so far but having issues with the clutch disengaging/engaging when shifting at high rpms not sure what the issue is. It works fine when short shifting but anytime its redline shifting it gets real soft and wont go into 3 or forth. It's going to the shop tomomorw to have it inspected. Also there seems to be a noise in the rear like rubber squeaking at slow speeds. Other than that what an F'in blast to drive. I was a hardcore mustang guy until I drove this thing holy hell is this what I have been missing? Anyways here are some pics. (crappy cell phone)

No problem at all. I paid 10,500 that included a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty with dmv tax and lic it was about 11,600 out the door. They were asking 10,900 which from all the looking I have been doing was cheap for one in this condition.

Ya I looked for a good two months nothing but autos and higher mileage cars. I found this one before it even hit the lot. Was the owner of the lots son's he mentioned to me that his son might be selling his SS. I saw it the next day and bought it.

Ya I think I saw that car. 98k isn't the end of the world but for 10k is still to steep. I have a buddy with a 2000 SS with 178k all orginal still going strong just gotta keep up the service and don't rag the **** outta it every mile.

Sounds like you may need to do the drill mod on the clutch cylinder. Same thing on my buddies 6 speed the hole in the clutch cylinder cylinderwas too small and under high demand it would feed fluid back quick enough so the clutch pedal would be spongey andnot return quick. His did the exact same thing urs does fix it to either drill out the cylinder or replace.

Thanks for the greetings! I have a thread on fixing the clutch problem I pulled the line and the previous owner had already done the drill mod. So today I manned up and purchased the Tick MC and am hoping a praying that corrects the problem. The plans for the car are Pacesetters/Y-pipe, Heads, Cam. Nothing too crazy I want it to be able to go to work daily and embarrass some Mustangs along the way. I am/was a nitrous freak but I promised my wife those days are over......................So I am going to have to hide it well!
