Default New T/A guy from Pittsburgh PA

Hi there,

Been reading the forum for a bit now and decided to register. Just moved to Pitt from Mass and brought my 99 Trans Am with me. I had it for 3-4 months now and it's stock.

It's my DD so can't afford down time for mods. Plus, still a student...

You can do small stuff to make a difference without it really being down. I am a full time student and manage to get small stuff done to my z. All of the induction bolt ons should take less than 3 hours, an intake would be the worst since you still have the ls1 intake. Once youve been on here a while check the trade boards, sometimes some of the bolt ons can be had at really good prices. I have $500+ in my induction bolt ons and it would have been a lot less had I bought them from members here.

You can get a lid for $90 or less and the slp ram air/cold air kit isn't too much. You should see a little difference and it should run a bit better with those 2. A ported throttle body runs $130 or less and is said to add around 7 hp.

Depending on resources a tune can help some.

Thanks a lot guys.

86zcamaro: I was looking at the mods you are talking about and they are definitely doable. I would still need to take it to a shop though, no garage/off the street place for me. I'll keep an eye on the tread boards here.
Plus, I think the first mod for me will be new speakers Two of them are already blown and the other don't sound too good either.
