Looking to build a sleeper/ do-it-all wagon
Hey fellas,
I've been into BMW's for a long time and think that the bimmer chassis is great but the powertrain is lacking. I had an M Roadster that was lots of fun, but with a new wife (+ dog) I could never really use it to do anything together. I sold it earlier this year with the intention of getting an E30 chassis 4 door to install an LS engine, but realized that it still probably wouldn't be able to handle a hopefully growing family.
I purchased a 1999 BMW 528i Touring (wagon) with a five speed manual. I love the size and looks, but obviously the 6 cylinder has to go! I'd like to drop an LS or other 6.0 and T56 in it.
Looking forward to learning a lot here!

Thanks. There's a couple of guys on Bimmerforums that have already done it, so I think the biggest hurdle is going to be wiring. I don't have any experience with wiring harnesses.
