Default New guy from Savannah-need advise

hey guys, I'm building an '01 ls6. Due to some pitting on my cylinder wall I have to bore it out. I was hoping you could tell me how large I can go and what pistons you recommend. Any help would be great, thanks guys

3.905 is a good safe bore to use. however, you can go a little more.3.908-3.910 sonic test and magnaflux to check block integrity. you may be better off $$$$$$wise to buy a short block assembly. you are ultimately the one who must be happy with the project. use a good machinist/engine shop. we have many on this site who are vendors. texas speed is my preference but each to his own opinion. do your homework and ask alot of questions before you get started. good luck and have a blessed day.

Thanks Jim. I'm looking to get 450-500 HP n/a out of the engine. It's going into a 1967 c-10. I want it streetable and reliable. What would be my best options for cams and valve train? Obviously it will be bored .010" over. I would like to put a moderate cam in it, I like the idea of a nice cam lope and not too concerned about comfort.
