Default Headers on stock pipe?

I was wondering if there is any way to install headers with out getting an off road y pipe. i already have a good little cat back exhaust, but i want to get some headers on and was wondering the cheapest way to go without making a mess. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Im pretty new to the ls1 so any other suggestions on cheap mods would be nice becasue money is tight right now. lol.

Depends on what kind of headers you want. Shortys, mids, or longtubes? Your best bet would be the longtubes since they would pack the most bang for the buck. I wouldnt use the stock Y pipe on long tubes because it would be way to much work and not worth it since the y is almost crushed in place on our cars. Just replace it and be done with it. Then you have a full exhaust
