Wink New from NJ, Building LS3 GR40 Mustang Fox Notchback....

Whats up everyone? Anyone recommend a good LS engine builder in NJ? I am currently leaning towards the GM Parts performance crate engine LS3 with hot cam. http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...9-P2218C2.aspx

Should I be concerned about the internals? I am told the crank will be fine, but should upgrade the rods/ rod bolts, pistons. The car should weigh 3200- 3300lbs max with a 315/35 17 nt05 tire. I would like to do a custom cam with forged rods/ pistons/ arp rod bolts and get more low end tq, and more hp/rpm.

The next step would be a forged stroker 418, but I dont need 600+ hp, what would be nice is the added low end torque with a short cam.

This is going in my roadrace/ pro touring Mustang-- 30% track, 70% street.
Plan to use a Keisler RS 600 5 speed, or TKO 600. I have an Auburn Pro 3.73 rear.

The car:

Your thoughts, comments....

Welcome! You may want to check out NJ F-Body Owners Association (njfboa.org), I bet they'd love to have a GM powered stang in the group, and to follow the build!

Hey everyone, been a while. Im still building this Notch, got a T56 Magnum for it now bc Keisler sucks at being a reputable business, prob better off anyway. If anyone has questions or comments feel free to e mail me at 2ndsideways@gmail.com.

Also- is there any reason I should be concerned about bringing my 6.2 block to Cartek in NJ for machine work?

Can recommend D&F performace in west berlin NJ 856 767 4095, about 10 min form atco. been doin my engine work for 20 yrs. straight up guys dave jr. has a big LS following.can do some amazing stuff on the flowbench. IMHO it would be smart to bite the bullet and do the crank when you rebuild it, everyone says they dont need 600hp at first but then you get greedy, cheaper to do it once than to redo later. none of those guy who "say it will work "are going to buy the new parts and build it for you, have a few cracked stock 5.0 blocks that were supposed to handle 500hp.
