Hello all. I have been a long time browser of this site, and now that I am getting ready to fix my 98 Z28 I thought I would introduce myself because I will be the one asking all the dumb questions. I have a 1998 Z-28 about 7 yrs ago it decided to commit suicide, from the dealer rebuild after a spun rod bearing I fought it and I lost, the warranty company said I over revved it causing it to explode, 2 rods are broken in half and sticking out of the block, I piston is completely in pieces along with holes in the block. There is a LS1 for sale that I am looking at it came out of a 2001 crashed corvette block number is 12561161
and he wants 2,000. Is this a good price and will my 98 computer wiring harness and accessories work with this or is there other mods required to drop this motor in. Sorry for the long intro, I will also ask this question in one of the other forum. Well its nice to finally be part of this forum.
