Default New Chix from Iowa

Hi. My husband is Fastazz40th on here. I wanted a Camaro of my own and to modify. We bought it from a gal who was pregnant and didn`t want a 2 door any more. It already had Pacesetter headers and clear lid on it. The worst thing about it was the boy friend of hers put some dorky bullet side exhaust on it. Looked total hick. I was embarrassed driving it around that way. That was the first thing we changed. We have some stuff we want to do to it as time and money allow. Heres acouple of pics. Gave her a bath for pics. Interior was super clean. Engine was and still is dirty, but will detail when I can. Pictured is the Austin SSRA on the ground and a pic of it installed. We would like to put some gears in it to perk it up a bit as well as a Yank 4k stall and a tune. 12 something ET is our goal. My husband says that should be very easy to do with these cars. We baselined it and run a best of 13.62 on a hot day with high humidity before the SSRA. After putting that on it felt stronger.

We are from Cedar Rapids. We are thinking about taking it to Chaos at Cordova on sunday to see if the SSRA and cooler air make a diff. Hope`n to drop 2-3 tenth with that alone.

The pic makes the rust look much worse then it is. Car was stored for several years prior to us buy `n it. But all ya gotta do is drive it once in Iowa during the winter after they put down the salt and you get alittle surface rust. But other wise a real clean car.

Welcome to LS1tech. I know how the exposure once and rust goes, I drove my mostly rust free car to PA last winter for Christmas, come back to FL and had to get sanding.

Sold it to a local guy. Heard he trashed it every time he drove it. Saw it was for sale locally. Bough it back with a broken rear end. Fixing that now. And taking the time to do acouple of things we wanted to do when we owned it.

We put 4:10 in it and a better posi. Ran street tires last year and no spin at the track. But with the gears we plan on put n 26 inch tall M/T street radial on it cuz we think it`ll spin now out of the hole. We will have to fix the SSRA cuz prevoius owner forgot it was there when pulled up to a curb and busted it all up. Also think n bout put n 1.8 rockers on it. Then a tune. 13.0 Et is our goal. Ran 13.6 at 105 with a 2.2 60ft when we owner it.

honestly i wouldn't waste the $ on rockers... i would tie it up on other mods......LS6 intake, ,Subframes, LCA, LCA reloc., Panhard, Torque Arm, Lowering springs, S2 or s3 Ported TB.

Just to name a few..... one thing that i wish i knew when moding my car is to start with suspension.

A fast car is useless unless its sticking to the ground.

We got the car back yesterday and is much more snappy with gears. We need to get a tune now. Then get it to the track. Here are pics as it came from the previous owner. Time to detail it AGAIN. Oh, and maybe lose the 4x4 stance.
