Hey guys, my name is Scot. I have a 2001 Silverado with 4.8. I've always been a fan of the LS1, so i figured i'd join up and learn a few things. I'd love to be able to get a little more pickup out of my little 4.8, without going too wild lol.

i wouldnt mind doing a 5.3 or 6.0 swap, but i'd probably wait until this motor takes a dump. its got 166,xxx miles on it right now, trans was recently rebuilt. i dont know how reliable these engines are in the trucks, but i dont think it should fail me anytime soon. i've already got a cold-air on it, probably looking to do headers and exhaust early next year. if i did put a 5.3 in it, i'd want to put a mild head/cam package on it before swapping in
