Default Newb intro

Researching LS swap info to put a 4.8 driveline I stumbled on into a 94 toyota pickup. The forum seems to have tons of info on it so far. When I was into car's I always had Gm's and my last car was a 2nd gen F-body with a TPI setup swapped in. Plan is a 4.8 and truck harness cut down, 700r4 K case to a d300 transfer case. Maybe a cam and some other small stuff, will almost deffinitly need a higher convertor.

Hey man, welccome to LS1tech. That is a sick trail rig! Back in WA I had a bunch of buddies with Jeeps and yota's and we had a ton of fun throwing mud and hitting the trails!

Why are you looking at a 4.8 swap? Why not a 5.3 or maybe a 6.0 if you find a good deal? Hell, get a 6.0 and it will make the power you are probably trying to reach without the cam swap or tuning.

The price is right for the 4.8 complete with all the stuff needed included as well as a 4l60e. Besides 4.8's are all over cheap and no one use's them. If I pop it or kill the bottom end toss it and put in another for cheap. It barely makes 100HP now.

I dont really do mud

Smile Just joined

Hi guy's,have always creeped around the site looking at all of the cars and reading post's.Finally joined because I may be getting a 95 Vert.Only thing is,the guy said it may be the only made, because it has the black and white interior. Can anyone help me out and give me the production numbers? Or is there a site to go to? It's a black 95 convertible in decent shape, needs a few things, nothing major that I can see as of yet. Also, what would be a fair value on this car?TIA!!!

WOW, 100HP. The 4.8L is rated at 270hp in stock trim! Do some research on here, there are a ton of threads and stickies to help with cam selection. A grind that boosts the low end torque would be prefferable in my mind for crawling.

Ahead of U; you might as well just start your own thread. Welcome to LS1Tech as well.
