It has been a while, so I thought i should re-introduce myself.

I have a 73 flared stingray......This week Im going to buy a fuel injected and overdrive tranny.

I have two options... A buddys Lt1 &4l60e tranny.

Or pick up a truck Lsx engine & tranny.

I heard the Lt1 will bolt in.

My concern for the 5.3l, How hard and expensive is it too change to ls1 intake.

I only want a 350 hp engine... although I do have a procharger and Novi 2000 on the shelf.

I know there is a search button...Been there done that.

I know I would rather have a Ls1. But that breaks the budget. I have to do truck 5.3 or 94 Z28 Lt1 100,000 miles, to get it on the road next week within budget.

Im just concerned about 5.3 oil pan fitment, ls1 intake swap. truck intake will not fit under hood.


I was told Lt1 is a bolt up.

Is it worth the trouble to do 5.3?

Advise from experiance IS worth more than a thousand scattered threads that I get mixed up on.
I would appreciate the shared knowledge of people who have done some swaps into classics.
