Default New member with 2006 gmc canyon going to V8 swap it!

Hey everyone my name is Kyle. I'm 20 years old an live in Newark Delaware. I drive a 2006 gmc canyon regualar can 2wd with a 3.5L inline 5 and a auto tranny in it right now.

I'm looking at getting a gen III ls motor. Planning of probably doing either a 4.8 or 5.3. Leaning more towards the 4.8 and boring it out and putting a 5.3 crank case in it to make it a 5.7 I believe?

Anyway I plan on filling building the whole motor my self and help from my dad ad good buddy. Hoping to put down around 400-450 hp at the wheel!

We'll here is a picture of my truck as it sits now!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks everyone!

The truck is lowered about 4/5.5"
Front: 2" belltech ballpoints,2" belltech lowering pro coils
Rear: 3" belltech blocks, stock leaf springs with a leaf removed, air shocks.

Hoping the extra weight of a V8 will drop the front down another inch and ill lower the back one more as well.

Do they make a shallow mount or low profile oil pan for ls1?
