Default good quick affordable performance?

Hey guys I'm new here, I have a 99 trans am and, much like most of you guys, I want to go faster. Haha. I have a flowmadters cat back system and a K&N intake system and I was wondering just how much the stock LS1 blok can handle internal wise, the reason I'm asking is because I want the diablo predator tuner, but I also don't want to screw my motor or granny up, its an auto, yea yea I know.

Having an auto ain't no problem, yeah six speeds are awesome but you gotta mess with clutches and shifting lol.. Any how ls1 blocks can't produce a lot of hp Just depends what you want out of them. For starters your already starting of wrong flowmaster and hand held tuners are old school... Go with custom tune and try switching exhaust

+1 on the different exhaust and the tune. But back to your post's subject line. "good quick affordable performance" drop a nitrous set up on it and call it a day for now. You can add 100+ hp at the flip of a switch. not to mention, you only put it on when running at the track, so it's not taxing on your motor constantly. You can get a kit and install for under a grand.

^^+2... and if your not into nitrous...get rid of the 'chokemasters', do full bolt-ons and a tune and gain 50+ rwhp(there all the time)

Thanks for all the advice, I'm no dumb *** to the ls1 I agree to the new exhaust but I thought LS1s were a wreat block that could produce lots of power, and as far as nitrous goes I'm all throtle and no bottle. Haha.

^^^^ LS1 blocks can produce a lot of power with the right head and cam combo, do a search, I just got an SS and been looking at combos that have been used and have proven results

And in reply to jam99, I have about 450 or 500$ I'd be willing to put into performance, and I don't particularly wat to blow the **** aout of my motor, I want to build my motor to be strong and powerful. Not weak. It. And I don't race drag strips.
