5.3 upgrades
I've got a 05 silverado with the 5.3 vortex and I'm looking to do some upgrades to get a little more power. I wanted to do LS1 heads but then I heard doing different cams will give you more for your money. Im not looking for a fast pavement Pounder, just to Get more torque for pulling a camp trailer and make an all around tougher motor. I'm on a budget. What would you guys recommend?

Everybody's on a budget, but what's yours?
I'd first get a cold air intake dryflow air filter(Volant, AFE) and a highflow cat-back exhaust(Magnaflow, Borla). I'd consider have the heads cnc ported(improved flow) and milled(small bump in compression). Now as far as a cam I'd look at a Cam Motion #C33-637: 212(.561")/218(.561") 112lsa +4, overlap is -9*, or slightly smoother #C33-676: 212(.544")/218(.544") 113lsa +4 , with -11* overlap.
