Default Another "new guy" post!

Hello everybody,

After lurking around the forums for a few months, I figured I should join! I'm a senior Mechanical Engineering student from Iowa State University. I have a built 71' Chevelle SS and am looking at doing a turbo LQ9 swap upon graduation. What better place is there to learn, share, and ask questions?

Welcome to the site! Good luck with the build, however I would suggest picking up an LQ4 motor instead of an LQ9 as they are already built more for boost by having dished pistons and lower compression.

Thank you sir! I need to look into LQ4 vs LQ9 a little more before I make up my mind.. I plan on stroking and forging the rotating assembly, but have seen some impressive numbers from stock bottom ends. Would you say they're pretty comparable besides the stock pistons?

If you are going to rip out the stock rotating assembly then it really doesn't matter because you well be customising the stroke and clearance. If doing that then they are the same block
