Default New guy from Illinois

Hello everyone,
I am looking forward to gaining some info on the LS platform
powerplants. I currently am running a 421 ci small block in my 64 Nova
drag car and am thinking about an LS build for it. Seems as though they have tremendous hp potential as compared to what I am running now.

Another welcome from the frozen land of IL, where it's too cold for even the Polar bears!

A 421ci sounds like a pretty serious SBC, is this something like a Dart SHP block? You'd have to build an equally serious LS1 to reach or exceed that level. The LS conversions make a lot of sense for the guys that are looking to make a jump from the average SBC to something with a lot more initial or mild-build power potential that's still in a small external package, but if you already have a very serious SBC then this might be little more than a costly lateral move, albeit with likely better driveability.

In any event, please check out the Conversions & Hybrids section for the many X-body LS conversions that hang out here.

Default Race & Performance Expo - Schaumburg IL Feb 20-21

Hello John and welcome!

This coming weekend is the Race & Performance Expo in Schaumburg.

We will be there along with a lot of other vendors. Dart Machinery is bringing our SHP LS Next Block #0002 as their display piece. We will be leaving with it. On our booth, we will have a couple of Whipple supercharged LS7s and there will be one making its debut under the hood of our El Camino.

Hope to see you there.
