Hello from SC
Hello from another new guy. I'm a married engineer in my late 30s living in South Carolina. We're expecting our first child this year. I'm into electronics, fishing, gardening, a little working out, RC airplanes, old cars and a few antique guns. I've had a '54 Chevy since high school, and a '67 Pontiac Lemans street/strip beater for about 10 years.
I've got a '04 Silverado daily driver I bought new. I'm having trouble with the 5.3L vortec, so I joined here to figure out how I should fix it. I'm way more familiar with dirt bike engines, '40s John Deere twins, Chevy 235 straight 6 and traditional Pontiac 350/389/400/428/455s. I'm looking forward to learning more about the LS engines used in my truck. See you guys around... Robert

Hey, thanks! I posted about the truck in the newbie tech section. Basically the truck is high mileage and has the 706 Castech heads and is using water. I'm looking for a replacement engine so I need to know what engines I can swap in.
looks like they locked the thread and sent me to a sister website. I didn't see anything about this being a car-only site. Very frustrating since it took days to get my account to work and I'm just trying to get my truck fixed. *sigh*
